Description
A flared ceramic lampshade, ecru and speckled, across which run hand-painted stripes in shades of deep blue, earthy brown and ochre. Each stroke keeps the trace of the hand, with its irregularities and variations in material, which gives the piece a handcrafted presence rarely found in a mass-produced light. Hung above a table or in a corner of the living room, it draws the eye without ever imposing itself.
Once lit, the light slides along the glazed interior and emerges through the wide flared opening in a warm, amber cone that wraps the table or the reading corner in a soft glow. The matt finish of the ceramic softens the source and eases the shadows, for an atmosphere suited to calm evenings and dinners that stretch on. It is an atmospheric light, designed to accompany rather than to light up outright.
The gold brass lamp holder, the twisted brown fabric cable and the matching ceiling rose add a confident retro note, halfway between the Scandinavian workshop and the Japandi interior.
