Light that truly adjusts

Its integrated 20W LED can be dimmed continuously, from 10% for a soft nightlight to 100% to illuminate the entire room. Three white temperature settings are selectable via remote control: 3000K warm for late evenings, 4500K natural for everyday life, 6000K cool for working or reading. It is a full-fledged ceiling light that also circulates air, saving you from having to install a separate light fixture in the center of the room.

A copper motor, and you can hear it

The winding is pure copper, not copper-clad aluminum: copper conducts better, heats up less, and ages better, which translates into a motor that maintains its performance over time rather than starting to hum after two summers. Coupled with direct current, it stays under 35 decibels, which is the level of a quiet room at night. The speed ramp-up is gradual, and the unit vibrates very little. Its 6 speeds range from a barely perceptible breath to strong circulation for heavy afternoons, and a natural wind mode varies the intensity like a breeze rather than blowing continuously.

Useful in winter, too

The reversible function inverts the rotation direction at the touch of a button. In summer, air is pushed down, creating an immediate cooling sensation. In winter, it draws air up along the walls and pushes back down the heat accumulated at the ceiling—the heat your heater produced that otherwise goes to waste. A ceiling fan is not just for three months of the year.

Matte black, down to the tips of the blades

Many black fans are only partially so: a dark motor block, but then wooden or contrasting-finish blades. This one is monochrome from one end to the other, including the canopy and downrod, in a matte black that does not reflect daylight. Against a light-colored ceiling, it draws a sharp shape; in an already cluttered interior, it reads as a single object rather than an assembly of parts.

The living room, and the covered terrace

Its ABS blades and treated structure are moisture-resistant, allowing it to be placed where a wooden-bladed fan would eventually warp: a veranda, a covered terrace, a porch, or a kitchen. One caveat to keep in mind, however: "covered" means sheltered from rain and direct water spray. It is not an exposed outdoor appliance.

You choose the height

Two downrods are included, 12.5 and 25 cm. Depending on which one you install, the fan hangs 40.5 or 53.5 cm from the ceiling: the former for standard ceiling heights, the latter for better blade clearance when ceilings are higher to gain efficiency. The mount accepts both flat ceilings and sloped ceilings up to 15°, which settles the issue for converted lofts and attics.

Everything is controlled by remote

The included remote controls everything: the 6 speeds, summer or winter rotation direction, natural wind mode, power, light dimming, color temperature changes, as well as a sleep timer for 1, 4, or 8 hours. This timer has a memory function: your settings are restored when turned back on, without having to reset them every night. No wired wall switch is required or provided.
